Obituary of Christopher Thompson

Christopher Anthony Thompson 4/9/1979 – 1/25/2023 A life cut short. Chris was born to Charles Anthony (“Tony”) and Nancy Leialoha Thompson on April 9, 1979. Early in life, Chris lived in Virginia, Texas and Pennsylvania before ultimately settling in Oregon. He attended Westview High School in Beaverton, Oregon. He proudly served his Country with distinction for nearly 25 years. Enlisting as a Soldier in the U.S. Army in 1997, Chris served in uniform for over 10 years. Chris deployed multiple times and received several awards in recognition of his service, including the Bronze Star Medal. After leaving active duty, he continued with the Army as a civilian employee. Blessed with a sharp wit and keen mind, Chris spoke several languages, and valued the importance of education – both his children’s and his own. Chris graduated Cum Laude from Hawai’i Pacific University in the discipline of Diplomacy and Military Studies. Chris was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and friend. In addition to his parents, brothers – Bryan, Ben, and Nick – and wife, Corinne, Chris leaves behind four children: Alexandria P., Tony J., Shane R., and Cameron L. Services for Chris will be held at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon, on February 28, 2023. A private reception will follow.
