Obituary of Ronald Ross Senske

On Saturday, April 16, 2022, while suffering from a short respiratory illness, God unexpectedly called Ron Senske from his earthly home to his heavenly home. Ron was born to Ross and Elva Senske in Portland, Oregon on March 18, 1946. He was the first son and second child in the family. He lived his entire life in Portland, except for two years at Fort Bragg, North Carolina while he served in the Army National Guard. Ron graduated from Clackamas High School in 1964. Ron married his neighbor, Roberta, on March 21, 1975, and welcomed two stepdaughters, Laura and Julie into his family. In 1977, a son, Tim, made their family complete. The joy of Ron’s life was his children. Ron worked at various jobs and was always a valued and respected employee. He was always willing to go the extra mile for anyone. Driving and traveling to new places was enjoyed by Ron for many years. He loved the outdoors – hiking, backpacking, rappelling and being a member of the Columbia Gorge Hikers. Another beloved hobby of Ron’s was photography. His keen professional eye for composition created many memorable photographs and he could have been featured in any national magazine. He loved to share his photographs with his friends and family and has documented many wonderful events for everyone. Ron enjoyed visiting his sister Carol and her husband Dave’s family in Idaho and loved joining them for numerous four-wheeling trips into the back country. In the early years of these annual events, Ron would take his grandmother, mother, and aunt for family visits too. Ron was a caring and loving son, brother, husband, father and grandpa. Most importantly, Ron was a man of faith. He was a member of New Hope Church for many years, singing in the choir and attending Bible studies and being of service wherever needed. Ron’s outlook on life was to see and voice the positive. He loved the Lord and the way he lived his life was a testimony of his faith and devotion to all who knew him. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Brenda Senske, and son, Tim. He is survived by his stepdaughters Laura Fazio and Julie Thompson, their children, and grandchildren; his sister Carol Cox (Dave) of Nampa, Idaho; his brother David Senske (Lynne) of Taylorsville, Utah, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the love of his life, Kathi Miller. A celebration of life will be held, Saturday April 30th at 3:00 PM at New Hope Church. In lieu of flowers Ron's family would encourage you to stay in touch or re-connect with relatives and family. Our time on earth is never known, and the time spent with loved ones will always be cherished.
