Obituary of Carolyn Jean Laughlin

Carolyn Laughlin passed away peacefully on February 24th surrounded by her family. She was born on February 10, 1938, in Portland, Oregon to Robert and Violet Sloop. She was the oldest of 5 siblings Janice Gunderson, Jim Davies (deceased), Dan Davies, Joy Moreland-Johnson. She is survived by her husband John and their children Grant, Thad, and Tammi, and her grandchildren Evan and Roxy. She met her husband John at the Portland First Church of the Nazarene and was married in 1972. John brought his two sons Grant and Thad to their new family and in 1975 Carolyn and John’s daughter Tammi was born. In 1976 Carolyn became a tax consultant and started her own business. She sold the business in 1993 but retired officially in 1995. She also was a partner and managed the accounting for Cherry Lane Mobile Home Park in Oregon City, which she and John owned for 45 years. Carolyn was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. She will be very missed by her family and friends. There will be a service on March 5th, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Oregon City Evangelical Church. 1024 Linn Ave. Reception to follow. All are welcome.
