Hello from the Herrmann family. My dad Keith Herrmann worked with Jimmy and Mike for many years. We had the benefit of working with him at the Heleco Building. He will be missed. Margaret Taylor

I was friends with Jimmy 7th grade through HS. My neighbor and close friend Cliff (Kip) Dolan and Jimmy were very close classmates at SPN. Boy we all had some good rambunctious times together. I remember him as a great guy and a lot of fun. A hard worker and a good athlete. He played end for SPN football team and was too fast for his coverage he and Dolan both scored touchdowns in the only game I attended. But by far the most significant event I witnessed is when Jimmy out sprinted Norm Patera (All City Football) in a foot race in the hood. Jimmy and Kip had 41 fords, as I recall, and born out of necessity they could replace a dropped transmission in less than a couple of hours. We lived in the proverbial good old days. We were lucky not to have lost any fingers during our homemade gun power days. They both went to Central and I to Cleveland and we drifted apart. Last January, Jimmy and I reconnected by email and were to get together when he came back from Arizona. Then COVID hit. My wife and I had driven by Jimmy’s home a couple of weeks ago, but didn’t stop and a couple of days later my heart sank when I read his Obit. I knew he was a successful businessman with his partners at Garden Products and was not at all surprised to hear of his success as a husband, father, and all-around person of good character. I regret so much not having been able to tell him so in person. “Jimmy, thanks for all the good memories, and rest in peace my friend of long ago!” My condolences to Jimmy’s family.

I have so many fond memories of Jimmy. I go back to the Garden Products days and remember what a presence he was. I was so glad to be involved in some of the things he loved, golf, blazer games, the love of his family. I want the family to know it was a pleasure to know and work with him. God bless you all. Remembering Jim - He was born in Portland to James, Sr. and Norma Gattuccio the second of six children. He attended St Philip Neri grade school and Central Catholic High School. He married Judy Torchia in 1962 and they had four children, James, Debbie, David and Rocky. Jim spent his whole career in wholesale produce and a part owner of Garden Products and sold to Sysco where he remained until he retired. He loved golf, hunting, fishing and clamming. He especially cherished the years travelling caravan style to Mexico with family and friends in his motorhome. Jim and Judy were snowbirds and spent the past several years at their second home in Arizona until Judy's passing two years ago. Jim had a great sense of humor and was our family leader. He had a great heart and beautiful spirit. His family was the most important thing to him. His passing leaves a huge void in our family.
Loving siblings, Janis, Susan, Patti (Mark), John (Nancy), Mark

We didn't know James personally but through his son Rocky. Rocky worked on our log home a few years ago and still comes to see us once in a while. We are very sorry for your loss and offer our deepest condolences. Lee and Charlene Schweizer

I still can't believe Jim is gone. It was such a shock when I received the news. I have known Jim since he started dating Judy and then married her. I grew up with Judy, so I have known her most of my life. I will miss Jim very much. He was a wonderful person. My sincere condolences to the Gattuccio family. Sheryl Parise

I first met the Gattuccos in the mid-1970's when I had the kids as students at Holcomb Elementary School. They were a close family. I know Jm's love of the outdoors was passed along to his kids. Please accept our family's sympathies as you go through your grieving.
