Obituary of Daryl Beck

Daryl Beck, a loving son, brother, and friend, passed away April 21, 2020 at the age of 50. He was born in Salem, Oregon to Edward and JoAnn Beck. He attended Wenatchee High school but graduated from Cascade High School in Everett in 1988. Daryl spent his final years in Spokane Valley. Recently he attended Spokane Falls Community College and was near completion of his Associates Degree at the time of his death. Daryl had many passions. He loved to have long discussions about family, politics, religion, philosophy, food or current events. He amassed a significant collection of Star Wars figures and other memorabilia and displayed them proudly. Daryl will be best remembered for being an amazing friend to everyone he met. Besides family, he treasured his friends, which included classmates from childhood, acquaintances, coworkers, and store regulars he met while working as a clerk at local businesses. He could always be counted on to keep in touch and let people know he was thinking of them. He was the embodiment of a cheerful soul, the incarnation of childlike wonder, and a true lifelong friend and confidant to all he met. He is survived by his mother JoAnn Beck of Lacey, WA, his sister Laura (Brad) Medrud and his nephew Paul of Olympia, and his best friend Cory (Vicky) Terry of Everett, WA and their sons Ryan and Logan. He was preceded in death by his father Ed Beck. Arrangements are being handled by Hennessey Valley Funeral home in Spokane Valley. He will be laid to rest with other generations of his family at Portland Memorial Mausoleum in Portland, Oregon. A service will be held there at a later date.
