Obituary of Lisa Lowenberg

Our beautiful mother Tyra Elisabeth (Lisa) Lowenberg went to Jesus side February 6, 2020 at her beloved home. Lisa was born December 15, 1928 in Ånge, Sweden to Carl and Clara Lindahl. She had a lovely older sister Ulla. Her family moved to Stockholm when she was 5 years old, and there she was able to flourish in school and college. She graduated with a degree in home economics and nutrition and was able to teach throughout Sweden. Her employer sent her to America when she was 30 years old to study American food production. While she was in America that year, she met her future husband Vince Lowenberg in San Francisco. Vince and Lisa married in Sweden and lived there for the first two years of marriage adding to their family a beautiful daughter. Two more children followed and rounded out their family nicely. Lisa’s life with Vince was adventurous and they were able to live in Sweden, Ethiopia, Zambia, and Egypt. Wherever they lived in the world, Lisa always made the house a home. Her gift of hospitality and beauty was shared with those around her constantly. Lisa was also always involved with the Swedish community wherever she lived. She was famously known as the “gingerbread lady” as she taught gingerbread house making from Menlo Park to Portland and Seattle. More than anything else in her life her legacy of a deep love for Jesus will be what she is most remembered for. She wanted EVERYONE to know Jesus and was not shy telling people about him. She wanted to share the hope she had with as many people as she could. When her kids were grown, Lisa and Vince travelled as much as they could sharing the Gospel along the way. We have so many wonderful Memories of our dear mom. And we are so thankful that we will all be together again one day. Lisa was proceeded in death by her husband Vince. And is survived by her three children Karin Lowenberg, Robert Lowenberg, Kirsten (Lowenberg) Haas and their spouses. She is also survived by 6 beautiful grandkids and 3 great grandsons. We love you mom.... until we meet again ♥️ We would like to send a heartfelt thank you to our mom’s amazing hospice team who were with her for the past two years... as well as the loving care she received while she was at Bolton care home. A celebration of her beautiful life will be privately held at her home in April.
