Obituary of Lloyd Coffey

Lloyd Coffey was born in Salem, Oregon in 1923 to Louis Coffey, a carpenter and Effie Lillian Connett, a housekeeper. Lloyd was one of 5 children, sister Faye survives him; Dorothy, Alva and Carl preceded him in death. Lloyd quit school in the 8th grade, as he thought he knew enough to do what he wanted to do. Lloyd became an American Merchant Marine during WW II, providing ocean-going services. After the war, Lloyd worked at a plywood mill, working his way up to spreaderman. Later in life, Lloyd became a self-employed handyman. Lloyd's hobbies were fishing and hunting. Boy, could he entertain an audience, filling them with fish tales, the stories of his BIG elk and lots of photos. While Lloyd has completed his life's journey to meet with his Heavenly Father, he leaves behind his love, wife Rosemary Borene-Coffey, three sons, Mike, John and Alan, stepchildren Roseann Cotton, Virginia Monzo, Robert Fiocchi, Mary Powell, Dale and Ellen Hartley, four grandchildren, one nephew and three nieces. Lloyd was a member of Tri-City Baptist Temple. Rosemary and the entire family wish to thank William Bentley for his wonderful care giving and the quality of life he gave Lloyd. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Willamette National Cemetery.
