Obituary of Mamie Fenton

Mamie Helen Fenton nee Lindi Milwaukie, Oregon Mamie Fenton, 96, Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great grandmother, passed away Monday April 2nd 2012, at her home in Milwaukie Oregon. Mamie was born in Brown County, South Dakota, 07-29-1915 to Charles W. and Lydia Marie Lindi. She moved to Oregon in 1941. On March 5th, 1944 she married Donald McCartney Fenton. They remained married until his passing in 1978. Mrs. Fenton was a Nurses Aid who cared for the elderly her entire working career, at several local Milwaukie locations. Mamie was a widow member of Elk's lodge #2032, Milwaukie, Oregon, also the American Legion #180, and the Eagles. Mamie was a full Finnish woman, and also the last surviving, and oldest of ten siblings. Mamie was a Vacation Bible School, and Sunday school teacher with a great love for children. She was a previous member of Milwaukie Lutheran Church. Mamie enjoyed being surrounded by her family, cooking, home decorating, spring flowers, and especially her beautiful yard, which she worked herself into her mid 80's. Mamie is survived by a daughter, Mary J. Leek, and her partner of over 20 years, Jose Castillo, of Milwaukie Or; Son James D. Fenton and his wife Lesa of Atlanta Ga; numerous nieces and nephews; Grandchildren, Scott Fulton, and his wife Jodi Lu, of Portland, John Leek and his wife Melissa, of Molalla Or, Mark Leek and his wife Allene, of Edmonds, Wa, Heather Fenton Mosher and her husband Eric of Atlanta Ga, Jennifer Fenton of Atlanta Ga, Christopher Fenton of Atlanta Ga, and Jamie Fenton, of Athens, Ga; Great Grandchildren Jasen, and Jeffrey Leek Of Molalla Or, and Kyle, Kayla, and Konner Fulton of Portland, Or.
