Obituary of Ruby L. McCullaugh

Ruby L McCullaugh Obituary Sept. 3, 1921 – May 19, 2012 Ruby (90) was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Glover and Ida Jen Rader. She was the 5th of 7 siblings all whom predeceased her. In 1941 she married Ray McCullaugh (deceased) and in 1942 moved to Oregon for a better life. She passed away of natural causes with her daughter at her side on Saturday afternoon 5/19/2012. Retiring after 25+ years as executive secretary for Crown Zellerbach, West Linn, Oregon, becoming a "snow-bird" was next. With her husband she shared time between Yuma, Arizona and Woodburn, Oregon depending on the weather. Golfing, cards and in general just enjoying retirement became her past time. 20 years were spent making life-long friends in Yuma and at the Senior Estates in Woodburn. Those who played golf with Ruby knew that you didn't try to fudge your score because she always knew how many strokes you had taken. The subject of golf came up just recently and at age 90 she stated that she would like to get out soon and play a little. Family reunions and family in general were a great joy to her and over the last several years she has been an integral part of 3 large reunions held in Milwaukie, Gladstone and on the Oregon Coast. She was always proud to brag about the Pacific Northwest to all the Oklahoma, Texas and South Dakota relatives. God graced us with a woman who didn't focus on the negative. She was always a positive role model exhibiting a work ethic and drive to never give up. Ruby will be missed by all those fortunate enough to know her. She is survived by son Mike McCullaugh (Kathy) Wilsonville, daughter Peggy Bohlander (Allen) Eugene, grandchildren Cheri (Scott), Christy, Tim (Stephanie), and Joe; great grandchildren Ashley, Carter, Emmerson and Avery. A private family viewing and burial will be held at Wilhelm Portland Memorial. A memorial service for all is planned for June 13, 2012 at 1:00PM at Woodburn Christian Church. Donations should be made to Woodburn Christian Church. "Keep your head down and watch the ball…" Service Information
