Obituary of Charles Marsolini

Charles (Charlie) Marsolini Obituary August 5, 2012 Charlie Marsolini journeyed into the presence of His Lord. He was born June 4, 1939 in Boston, MA the son of Charles Marsolini and Agnes T. Queen. He loved to tell stories of his childhood in Boston's Italian North End. Charlie served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1964 as a member of the AGC (Adjutant General's Corps) stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. After graduating Bentley College of Finance, he moved west and began his career as a Certified Public Accountant in Medford, OR as a partner with John Graff. In 1977 he opened his own firm, Charles Marsolini, CPA and later expanded his career by becoming a securities broker with H.D. Vest Financial Services. In March 1975 Charlie married Maxine Wopschall. They enjoyed family, sports (football and basketball), theatre, travel, and the excitement of ministry opportunities. In 2003 they relocated to Portland, OR. Charlie's financial background merged with God's perspective on money and he became the Pacific NW Regional Director for Crown Ministries (later known as Crown Financial Ministries). He taught Biblical financial concepts to individuals, trained church leadership, and eventually became a popular seminar instructor for Crown's Journey to True Financial Freedom seminar. God's word was always growing in Charlie's heart and mind. By 1995 he longed to speak from the pulpit. The CPA practice soon merged with another firm and a course of study resulted in ordination with the Church of the Nazarene. He served as a staff pastor at both Medford First Church of the Nazarene and Oregon City Church of the Nazarene, and as Senior Pastor for Eagle Point Church of the Nazarene. Charlie was eager to share his years of streetwise financial wisdom with a wider audience. 2011 marked the release of Charlie and Maxine's book: Rebuilding Families One Dollar at a Time: Achieving Financial Stability in Spite of an Uncertain Economy. He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved grandmother, Graziosa. He is survived by his wife Maxine, sons Charles and Mike, daughters Felicia Handley, Grace Colton, Andrea Blanch, Sabrina Paolo, Deborah Keone, and fifteen grandchildren. Two services are planned: 1) Tuesday, August 14, 2012, 10:30 am at New Hope Church, 11731 SE Stevens Rd, Happy Valley (Portland), OR and 2) Saturday, August 18, 2012, 11:00 am at First Church of the Nazarene, 1977 E.
