Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Hoppes

Elizabeth Ann Hoppes was born in 1965 to Bonnie & Larry Skenandore in Livermore, California. Liz passed away due to complications from her long term battle with Lupus. Liz attended several schools early in life as her parents worked for the Department of Energy; finally settling in New Mexico and graduating from Cibola High School. After moving to Portland she earned a BS in Psychology from Portland State University. Her life revolved around her children, Kathryn (26), CJ (22), and Levi(12). Being a mom and homemaker were her primary goals. She became an amazing cook & baker, wrote a Foodie blog complete with pictures, and created cookbooks for her children. Liz had several interests and talents through her life resulting in many close friends. Her activities included: Portland Roller Derby, OPAL Pool league, her business GrayFox featuring Native American art work, hand coiled pots, painting, beading, and totems, and her business Rocksnpots featuring lapidary of finished stones. Throughout her life she enjoyed physical activities such as softball, Karate, hiking, camping, roller skating, skiing, and swimming. She was always as active as her body would allow, pushing the limits at all times. Most recently she was very involved in finished stones and learning wire wrapping for jewelry. Liz is survived by her father Lawrence Skenandore and his wife Mary; brother Thomas Skenandore; husband Garth Hoppes, former husband Kevin Fogg; her wonderful children Kathryn Faist, CJ Fogg (& Myrna Lewis) and Levi Hoppes. Liz had a bright and cheerful personality, making friends in every facet of her life. If you were fortunate to have known Liz or been a part of her life, you are invited to attend a celebratory funeral mass at Holy Redeemer Church, 25 N Rosa Parks Way, Saturday October 27th at 10:00 AM, reception following.
