Obituary of Pete Reed

Harvey R. "Pete" Reed, Jr. died January 9, 2013 at Legacy Emmanuel Hospital in Portland, OR. Pete was born May 22, 1947 in Red Bluff, CA, Pete served as a sergeant in the US Air Force at Castle Air Force Base in California. He touched countless lives by serving as a police officer for over 33 years in Oakland, CA, Anchorage, Kenai, Anaktuvuk, and Prudhoe Bay, AK, and the Washington Co. Sheriff's Dept. in Hillsboro, OR. After retiring from the Sheriff’s Department, Pete refused to slow down and became Manager of Security for Ecotrust in Portland. Pete loved the outdoors, fishing, rafting, and camping. He loved animals and enjoying nature with his family, especially his son Matt who was his pride and joy. Pete married Christine "Cris” Blosser Reed May 30, 1970 in Carson City, NV. He is survived by Cris, his son Matt Reed and daughter-in-law Jill McKenna Reed, sisters Karen Colombero and Lorene Reed, brothers Richard Reed and Mark Reed, nieces and nephews, and numerous in-laws. Memorial services in memory of Pete will be held Friday, January 18th at 10:00AM at Wilhelm’s Portland Memorial Funeral Home, 6705 SE 14th Ave., Portland, OR 97202. A committal with military honors will follow at 12:00PM, Willamette National Cemetery. Service Information
