Obituary of Patricia Nadine Budahl

Patricia Nadine Budahl was born in Portland and lived her entire life in the Portland area or Lake Oswego. She married Gene, the love of her life in 1956. Their son Rick and daughter Kristie soon followed to complete their family. Rick and his wife Janine have three children; Ian, Rachael, and Alex. Kristie passed away in 2005 and is survived by her son John and daughter Kristen. Pat and Gene were married 52 years and enjoyed traveling the globe when time allowed and socializing with their many friends. Summers were often spent on Lake Oswego boating with friends and neighbors. After Gene passed away in 2008, Pat continued her travels including taking 2 cruises with her son Rick and his wife and children. Pat also kept busy by volunteering for the Red Cross and Our Lady of the Lake and St. Michaels Catholic Churches. She was a member of Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority for 68 years and also a member of the Elks. She was a patron of the Lakewood Theatre in Lake Oswego and enjoyed attending many plays over the years with friends. She even attended plays while vacationing in England and New York. Pat always had a full calendar. She was always ready to volunteer and serve her community. She also loved to can in the summer and would always make extra to share with others. We will all miss her famous salsa and dilly beans. She lived life to the fullest even at the end as she courageously battled cancer. She will be missed by all who knew her including her surviving family; her cousin, Florence Nelson; son Rick and his wife Janine, grandchildren; Ian, Rachael, Alex, John and Kristen. A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Oswego. Arrangements by Wilhelm’s Portland Memorial Funeral Home.
