Obituary of Arleton Bryant Shannon

Arleton (AB) Shannon formerly of Portland, Oregon and currently of Lincoln City, Oregon passed away January 24, 2014 at his winter home in Yuma, Arizona. He was 94. He was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa and graduated from Creighton Prep in Omaha, Nebraska in 1938. He served in the Merchant Marines from 1943 -1945. The majority of his career was with the Union Pacific Railroad out of Portland, Oregon from 1946 - 1980 where he served as a dining car steward and commissary supervisor. He was Past Master and Life Member of the Masons - Washington Lodge 46. He is survived by his children Jacqueline Lou Carlson of Lincoln City, Oregon; Michael Gordon Shannon of Silver City, Iowa; and Michael Shannon Butler, of Estacada, Oregon; sixteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren.
